The Hippipinen Woods Spiritby ~lledra

This is the Spirit of the Hippipinen (Hip-pip-in-een) Woods.

The spirit has been around since before the first saplings of the woods it is now known after began to grow.

The Woods have been around since people have been keeping records of such things. People don't know how long the Spirit known as 'Hippip' has been 'alive'.

Hippip has been known to 'talk', but any recording device ever used to try to record 'her' has only ever recorded soft whale like sounds. This leads people to believe that 'her' voice is more in ones mind and felt by their soul than anything that's truly heard.

Hippip's gender like other Spirits isn't known for sure, since they have no reproductive traits. Most people refer to Hippip as 'her' due to her gentle nature and fluffy fur. There are a few that refer to Hippip as 'he' and others call Hippip 'it'. All are correct, and she hasn't ever indicated one way over the other.

She's lived along side the Humans of Winter Water and has seen the Empire of Sahnlinn grow from the very beginning. She also watched as their peoples engaged in the bloodiest war she'd seen them have only 20 years ago.

She is fond of humans, and unlike some of her peer Spirits she helps them if they get lost in her woods. Never has she stepped into Winter Water, preferring, like others of her kind to remain in her home. Keeping watch to make sure nobody is abusing her area and teaching them lessons if they do.

She is gentle and kind, and will occasionally stick her nose into the camps of visitors and see what they are up to. When not in her visible form, she turns into an energy that allows her to truly BE the woods. She is literally the ground, the trees and plants to be found there. This is the state she's most often.

The only way she can be harmed is if the woods she's connected to were completely destroyed, every root, sapling blade of grass and animal. The woods is so big, that such a thing would be nearly impossible to do now. She can protect her home and like most other spirits, has a grasp over magic that is mind boggling to any person other than Mystics. The elements work with her, and she in turn protects them to the point where balance is kept.

Early in the mornings of spring, if the wind is right, Winter Water residence can hear her 'singing' with the rising of the sun.

I don't think I've ever seen anything like this before, she looks unique and the story suits her perfectly. Nice touch to add a human figure there to actually see how big she is!

Would be also cool to see the Hippipinen Woods! Is she taller than the trees? Are the trees perhaps pines or oaks or something totally different?
